Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains how Splat Zone ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our website and game (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information we collect
We built Splat Zone to be playable without an account, so we collect as little as possible:
- Gameplay data. A temporary in-memory session holds your chosen display name, color, position and score for the duration of a match. This is not written to any database and is discarded when the match ends or you disconnect.
- Local storage. We store small preferences on your own device (for example, sound settings and basic gameplay counters). This data stays in your browser and is not transmitted to us.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our servers may automatically log standard request information such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps for security and reliability. We do not use this to identify you personally.
We do not ask for your real name, email address, or payment details to play.
Cookies and advertising
We may display advertising to keep the game free. To do this we work with third-party advertising partners, including Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Service and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
For more information on how Google manages data in its advertising products, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How we use information
- To run live multiplayer matches and keep gameplay fair and stable.
- To remember your local preferences on your device.
- To protect the Service against abuse, fraud, and technical attacks.
- To display advertising through our partners.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Your choices
- You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings.
- You can opt out of personalized ads using the links above.
- You can stop all data sharing by not using the Service.
Data retention
Match state is held only in memory and is erased when the match ends. Standard server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations, then deleted.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the revision.
